Privacy Policy

Last updated: April 2026

This is a personal publication. I’m not a corporation, I don’t run ads, I don’t sell anything, and I have no interest in your data beyond the minimum required to send you the writing you asked for.

Here’s what I collect, why, and what happens to it.

What I Collect

Email address. If you subscribe, I collect your name and email address. That’s it. I don’t ask for your location, your phone number, your astrological sign or anything else. If you volunteer additional information in a reply or a message, I read it and may respond to it, but I don’t store it in any database.

Basic analytics. The site uses Ghost’s built-in analytics, which tracks page views and general traffic patterns without identifying individual visitors. I look at this occasionally to understand which posts people read. It does not use cookies for tracking purposes.

Technical data. Like any website, the server automatically logs basic information when you visit — your IP address, browser type, the page you requested, and the time of the request. These logs exist for security and troubleshooting purposes. I don’t use them to identify you personally.

How I Use Your Email Address

Your email address is used for one purpose: sending you posts from this site when I publish them. That’s all.

I do not sell your email address. I do not share it with third parties for marketing purposes. I do not use it to send you anything unrelated to the content you subscribed for.

Who Handles the Technical Side

This site runs on Ghost, a publishing platform. Email delivery is handled by Mailgun, a third-party email service provider. When you subscribe, your email address is stored in Ghost’s database and processed by Mailgun to deliver emails.

Ghost’s privacy policy is available at ghost.org/privacy. Mailgun’s privacy policy is available at mailgun.com/legal/privacy-policy/.

I do not control how these providers handle data on their end, beyond the configurations available to me as an account holder.

Where Your Data Is Stored

Ghost’s infrastructure is hosted on servers primarily located in the United States. If you are accessing this site from the European Union or another jurisdiction with data protection laws, be aware that your data may be transferred to and processed in the United States, which may not provide the same level of data protection as your home jurisdiction.

Your Rights

You can unsubscribe at any time using the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any email I send. This removes your email address from the mailing list immediately.

If you want your email address deleted from the system entirely, email me at [email protected] and I’ll take care of it.

If you are in the European Union, you have additional rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), including the right to access, correct, or erase your personal data, and the right to object to processing. You can exercise those rights by contacting me directly.

Cookies

This site uses minimal cookies — primarily functional cookies that Ghost sets to keep the site running. I do not use advertising cookies or cross-site tracking cookies. If you see a cookie consent prompt, declining non-essential cookies will not affect your ability to read anything on the site.

No Affiliate Relationships

This site has no affiliate relationships. When I link to a product, a policy document, or an organization, I am not compensated for that link. I mention this because most insurance and travel content online is built around affiliate revenue. This site is not.

Changes to This Policy

If I make material changes to how I handle your data, I’ll update this page and note the date at the top. I’m not going to send you a lengthy email about cookie policy updates.
